The Sweet Dream Motel Managers need to know where they are now if they are to be able to decide where they are going. SWOT analysis gives managers a chance to examine the external environment within which the organization operates and the internal state of the organization. SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Strengths and weaknesses are factors which are specific to the firm while opportunities and threats arise from the external environment. First, Strengths in one of the internal factors. To know what are these strengths is to state what the organization is best at or what intellectual property do they own also the financial resources they have.
